Facing the Enemy

Bravely leading the way,
Honouring the position held,
First into the fray,
Never backing down
Or turnng away.
Protection rarely helps
Against this enemy;
Strong, persistent,
Unrelenting,
Coming in waves,
Sneaking in despite
The camouflage,
The cover,
Always knowing the suffering
Will be evident,
The pain endured
For several days,
Blisters giving way,
Flesh delicate and new,
Facing yet again,
And choosing to;
Predictable.
My nose is sunburnt again!
